Happiness hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her stuck still no turning back

She hid around corners and she hid under beds
She killed it with kisses and from it, she fled
With every bubble, she sank with a drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run

Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come

And I never wanted anything from you
Except everything you had and what was left after that too, oh
Happiness hit her like a bullet in the back
Struck from a great height by someone who should know better than that

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come

Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run

We all get sick of a songs eventually. This song is so repetitive I only  needed to hear it a few times before I wished I would never hear it again. Unfortunately, he became something of a hit, as catchy, but repetitive songs often tend to do, and I was forced by circumstance to hear it much more than I would like.   I know some of you love it, I hope you enjoy it, I wish you all the best. But for me, I really appreciate the existence of this comment section so I can vent my frustration :-)
someone tell her to stop barking, right?
aren't dog days over?

Ridiculous sh*t posting there golden ears, hit that PSD and move along ....
I love this version and I love her live version.

She looks like she's having such a good time when she sings this song.
Not their best effort.

She can, and she does.
She can't sing.
For some odd reason, the entry for this song indicates the artist is "Bad Company."
Love to leave this song to those who enjoy it.

I am not one of them,...but it is hearing songs like this that I really don't like, that makes the ones I love sound even better!

Not that I'm a huge F + TM  fan, but what an insult. I do not like BC.
Like the beat but lyrics lame. Repeat repeat
I would call this a quite joyful song.

But I don't know if it reaches a level of  felicity.

I've reconsidered.  This song is very felicitous.

Sucks. 1. Skip.
She's like Spinal Tap. The volume is always at 11.
This song received a fair amount of airplay back then.  I enjoyed the song then and still enjoy it now.  A really nice upbeat number and my favorite from them (of everything I've heard of theirs).
Wait, is this the first month this song has played on RP?  I'm kind of surprised, I thought it was a longtime staple of RP.
Isn't she great?
