Ah, who blinks first
You're gonna win
The fallen doves of lovers' vows
In the world all around us
And I'd like, if you've got the time
To talk to you about
What this breakup has done to me
I have lost the feeling that I thought I'd never lose
Now where am I going?
At what cost the feeling that I thought I'd never lose?
It is barbaric
Ah, you can't play to every taste
The powder keg of common cause
All of us carry trauma
And in lieu of an explanation
I will pour oil from the cup
On the pyre of abdication
You have lost the feeling that you thought you'd never lose
Now where are you going, darling?
At what cost the feeling that you thought you'd never lose?
And it is barbaric
Empty grove, winter darkness
We're taking down the scaffolds very soon
Crow dappled the lonely baubles on the plane tree
The can of soup and heating up to ten
Which leads me to the part
Where we agreed on different dreams
And that we'd lost the feeling that we thought we'd never lose
Now where are we going?
At what cost the feelings that we thought we'd never lose?
It is barbaric
We have lost the feeling that we thought we'd never lose
Now where are we going?
We have lost the feeling that we thought we'd never lose

Interesting, Captain! Kinda thought it might be a new Wilco tune to start, but then... ain't nobody else 'sing like Damon, yeah! and I knew. And I like it!
Just me or do some of the lyrics feel really forced into the tempo of the music?
Damon really does sound like he can't be bothered these days. If this wasn't Blur, we'd be dismissing this as the output of a 2nd rate pub rock band, not quite managing to sound like Squeeze...
Didn't know there was any new material from Blur but I quite like this
Caught this earworm deeply embedded in my own ear a few times already
aha!
Squeeze!
Squeeze!

You do realize that Damon Albarn was raised in Leytonstone, East London right? Not likely his accent is anything but authentic.
I was born in Worcestershire, but no-one would know that from my accent.

The album cover shot is Gourock Swimming Pool, with the Clyde and highlands in the background. My old stomping ground!
More Brit pop with a solid bass line underpinning the lot. Ahhh ...
Feels like it's missing the mark today - downgrading from 7 to 6. Not totally sure why, but sounds lacking - given it's BLUR!

Nice to hear some of the new Blur music.
we were young once!
This is way more fun than the Narcissist (the other track RP has from this new album).

funny, that's one of the reasons i LOVE anything he makes/sings. from blur to gorillaz, etc. love his voice.
I like Blur's music but Albarn's mockney accent grinds my gears.

For old times sake William should play some Oasis next! ;)
I've kind of lost contact with Blur over the last few years. However, I rather like this!
