No matter what type of wine, most are made from grapes. That being said, any "sludge" is just the smaller bits of grapes that made it through the straining process.... Won't hurt you at all to consume it! I mean, c'mon... The tequila with the worm in it.... Don't recall anyone dieing from gulping that down! Perhaps some hallucinating but, surely, no deaths! LOL And, regardless of what is used to make the wine, grapes, dandelions, etc.... it's not only all natural but, it's fermented into alcohol. Which would be a "sterilizing" to whatever the sludge consists of!

Yeah, I was just barely getting ready to go from elementary to jr high when this got released. So, wasn't really familiar with L & M back then. I too, was quite glad to see who it was! What an awesome tune! But then, being all grown, I've heard a few numbers from them. They've always harmonized quite well! Pretty sure that's part of what made them such a good duo!

I just drank half bottle of a Merlot last night and it had that "sludge" at the bottom of the bottle.  Never quite sure if you consume it  (the French say yes)  or not (Americans say no).

The mandolin player is Gabe Witcher - from Punch Brothers (which also has Chris Thile and sometimes Steve Martin)

I saw this band play live twice... only major band I ever saw perform twice. They were a great fusion of bluegrass/jazz/folk/rock. This wasn't my favourite album; I considered it to be a bit too mainstream (the hits). But thanks for playing this Bill! I'm now dusting off those L&G songs in my collection... making me smile!  .......and Jimmy's guitar.... oh Jimmy's guitar!!!!!!

Sometimes I forget how jammin' these guys were for a few years there... My buddy Johnny M and his older brother Danny used to play and sing their songs on guitar, and, sadly, RIP to both of them -- but the memories shall always jam!

Damn, this just sizzles, now more than ever... Some of my friends' older siblings and/ or parents had works from this popular duo on their record shelves, and of course, "Your Mama Don't Dance (& Your Daddy Don't Rock & Roll)" as I seem to recall was on the 45 if you peered deep down into the machine, was on the radio and every jukebox through the mid-'70s, but this song didn't get much if any play then. The Viet Nam War was nearing The End, protests had lost steam and faded, and new distractions came along, such as The Arab Oil Crisis... --Wait, what --? Agreed. There may be some sounds akin. But that was the sound of the day, and it was pretty badass.

Huh?! I had most of the albums of both bands, Elton John and Loggins & Messina, and have seen them each in concert multiple times from the 1970s through the 2000s. There is no resemblance whatsoever between them, other than that they play rock 'n' roll and have many instruments! These two cats were quite Lame. Here they are doing a fairly decent Elton John impersonation. This was better than their later stuff.
