I'm a man on fire
Walking through your street
With one guitar
And two dancing feet
Only one desire
That's left in me
I want the whole damn world
To come dance with me

(Oh, come dance with me)

Over murder and pain
Come set you free
Over heartache and shame

I wanna see our bodies burning like the old big sun
I wanna know what we've been learning and learning from

Everybody want safety (safety love)
Everybody want comfort (comfort love)
Everybody want certain (certain love)
Everybody but me

I'm a man on fire
Walking down your street
With one guitar
And two dancing feet
Only one desire
That's left in me
I want the whole damn world
To come and dance with me

(Bah bah bah bah bah)

Yay, yay, come dance with me
Over heartache and rage
Come set us free
Over panic and strange

I wanna see our bodies burning like the old big sun
I wanna know what we’ve been learning and learning from

Everybody want romance (romance love)
Everybody want safety (safety love)
Everybody want comfort (comfort love)
Everybody but me

I’m a man on fire (he’s a man on fire)
Walking down your street (walking down your street)
With one guitar (With one guitar)
And two dancing feet (two dancing feet)
Only one desire (one desire)
That’s still in me (that’s left in me)
I want the whole damn world (I want the whole damn world)
To come and dance with me (come and dance with me yeah)

quick mute.
It caught my ear and I stopped to hear who this is.  Gave it an 8 right off the bat.  After listening further and finding myself boogieing to it; bumped it to a 9!
What a fun song.  Nice change of pace.

I'm not sure what kind of Church you attend, but it sure sounds like a fun one. Please beam me up to your hotel room while dancing like buck-dancing muleskinners.
One of my favorite bands of all time. Would love if they got back together and toured. Great live shows.

Was there a Man on Fire in the venue?

Frankly, if it turned out to be another 7, I would be just fine with that.

why has this not been played in over a month?! Please, add more of their songs to your playlists. Freshen things up a bit! Their new album is just as wonderful as well. Please!!!!

Everybody in my churches loves this song...

Just commented the same - May 2013
Reminded me of Leonard Cohen 'Democracy'

I think they are all right (in case they said John Prine). "All the best" in the beginning.

Fun band in concert, but got a little "smoky" in the auditorium.

Sometimes you just need songs of mindless optimism to get you through. I am quiting my job this morning. Its up there with always look on the bright side of life and I can see clearly now the rain is gone and the cool runings song. 9+
  How did it go?

Catchy.

Comparison with John Prine is appropriate though by Prine's standards, this is definitely 'over-produced'.  :-)

Sounded like John Prine at the beginning! That's not a bad thing.
I like that band so much — it's just that I haven't yet figured out if their new album surpasses the old one (of which "Home" was, by the way, the worst track...)?!

Is it just me or does one of the backing vocals towards the end of the song sounds very like Jon Anderson?

are those the only two choices we have?   {#Cheesygrin}
Sounds like the soundtrack vocals to a movie from the '60s.

It's probably just you, but any time I can avoid being reminded of the eunuch-like wailing of Jon Anderson is a good time.  Nice tune.
And now, presenting the Edward Sharpe Jubilee Singers!
Leonard Cohen-ish? no?

I despise "Home" with the white-hot fury of a moonshiner's still fire, but at least it's musically catchy.  This track is about as lively as a dead salmon in a fish market.

Speaking as someone who is currently involved in the elimination of 560,000 dead salmon, you've got a  ways to go.

Hey, at Pike Place Market in Seattle, the dead fish fly!
Like the visitor to one's living room, who, contrary to expectations, opens up with a good sing-along song. Thanks!

Harsh. Such vituperation. Are you related to Stingray?

How do you really feel about it?
Cool tune - diggin' it!
This guy is talented, also found under aka name of Alexander Ebert. Check him out.
Like this a lot, an interesting tune. I had to visit the website to see who it was. For me, it's another great Radio Paradise artist 'find'. Thanks Bill and Rebecca!
