Now curtain the moon
But faith swears
It will shine again soon
Shine with love
You've been hiding from me
Your kiss
Has hindered the day
A longing
That won't go away
You just keep knocking
And waking my heart
Like daylight chasing the dark
I can exist being caught by your kiss
Willingly
Or grant you control
Of my body and soul
Ask it and so it shall be
Shadows
Now curtain the moon
Still faith swears
It will shine again soon
Shine with love
You've been hiding from me
With that love
You've been hiding from me
I can exist being caught by your kiss
Willingly
Or grant you control
Of my body and soul
Ask it and so it shall be
Ask it and so it shall be
Thanks RP
Props to k.d.
Anybody else remember when she was the reincarnation of Patsy Cline? :^)
Olde Dayz Toronto.
Somehow she kept getting better and better and better.
I have a k.d. lang and the Reclines Angel With A Lariat" CD
Well put. Ingenue is her finest effort, IMO.
I'm in concurrence. I bought this album at a county fair booth. I was asked by the vendor "what music does he play." I corrected the gender, but couldn't place a genre.

Thanks so much RP!
I think KD has the most amazing control over her voice. It’s very moving when she can belt out one note and the next phase is soft and sweet.
I totally agree - you nailed her greatest musical attribute! I always recognize k.d. after the first note, and then I pause whatever I'm doing to let the whole song wash over me. Especially on gloomy days, her songs always lift my spirits.
Used to play this album to help my daughters fall asleep, in a falling-down room I rented in a ramshackle house out in the country. The room had windows lining one wall, and the evening breeze would wash over us all as this played. A high point in a difficult time of life.
While it wasn't a difficult time in my life, this album served up many lullabies for my daughters. I can remember rocking them in my arms to lull them before placing them in their cribs for the night.
That and maybe a delete button so we don't have to see some of the comments, rude or otherwise.
Bill does have rules, if you take the time to review them, like no cussing etc.
It's not 'no cussing'...just a request of posters to refrain from excessive use of profanity. https://radioparadise.com/comm...
Oh it's a SHE. You learn something new every day.
You should get out more ... a lot more!
Given your starting position, you got a lot more than one thing to learn each day
Go for it.
In what way is "lesbians" relevant?
Apparently not at all, according to my goosebumps.

Thanks for that.
Nice memory.
has done a wide variety of music over the course of her career. The wide
range of musical choices and the equally wide range and variety she can
achieve with her voice are stellar. More KD please.

I think she is just a fabulous singer, from the Reclines to solo, it's all good.
Play more.
A true Canadian treasure.
Thanks Bill.
Thanks for for playing it. Thinking about you Laurie....
Thanks for sharing

(I wish I were articulate)
(edit) had to hear this again so i looked up the YouTube video
very very good for both the ears and eyes
I'll have to check the disc out again...
I lived in a group house with a rotating cast of characters when this came out. Some of the smarter, more mature women in the house were really into KD (and sad songs. One gal in particular would often joyously exclaim as a tune started up, "Oh, this is the saddest song!").
This album appealed back then but I would likely appreciate it more now...
This album came out and I used to rock him to sleep to it…..
What a wonderful memory! I heard this song and it took me back to when this album came out. I was just out of college and "Constant Craving" was getting lots of play. That lovely song prompted me to buy this cd.....K.D. is so soothing on this album, and hearing this song took me back to that time of wondering what was ahead of me....so many years ago.....yet it doesn't seem so long ago.
Deja vu! Same exact thing just happened today...
And re-ditto to all that you have all just acknowledged. I have k.d. in my collection but I forget to dial her up-like most of my other music. Bill and Rebecca just do it for me--and most of us. And now I'm hearing Billie and just as enamoured as I was with k.d. Who wouldn't pay a pittance for having a mini-me at the turntable, or whatever they call it now!!
Tom Waits followed by Little Feat followed by k.d. - thanks for the warm fuzzies. This is why I support RP.

Looking for the LIKE button. She is amazing live. Good Canadian girl!
I agree!

In a way that as a cisgender nominative hetero male I'd find impossible to explain to you and 35 other Radio Paradise listeners. I don't spontaneously break out in goosebumps nor do I go out of my way to suppress them, they just happen. Sort of like erections.
