Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind

Once I had a love and it was divine
Soon found out I was losing my mind
It seemed like the real thing but I was so blind
Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind

In between
What I find is pleasing and I'm feeling fine
Love is so confusing there's no peace of mind
If I fear I'm losing you it's just no good
You teasing like you do

Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind

Lost inside
Adorable illusion and I cannot hide
I'm the one you're using, please don't push me aside
We could've made it cruising, yeah

Yeah, riding high on love's true bluish light

Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out to be a pain in the ass
Seemed like the real thing only to find
Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind

WHEN'S THE BASS GONNA DROP?!
I love hearing new and different songs on RP!  I hate this song šŸ˜†  I came to give it a tank rating, and saw I already gave it a 2.  The 2 stands.  Its ok though!  There's much more that I like than dislike here! šŸ„°

yes yes yes!

I love mashups that push peopleā€™s buttons, like the brilliant ā€œBrubeckā€ version of Golden Brown.
There are several takes on this particular remix. This one (that Iā€™ve only ever heard on RP) is, by far, the best.

This is so very funny.  Completely wrong, but funny nonetheless...
no no no!
Well.  There that was.  It was musical notes played in an order.
Love it!
Anyone know where to find this song? I've tried iTunes, Spotify and online - nothing
Because why the hell not!? I'll start with a 5 on this and maybe move up after a few more listens. I love these RP songs with non-normal distributions.
Thank you Blondie for helping me understand Phillip Glass better.
Like it, different but equally listenable.
not my cup of tea
Next up, Philip Glass's Nondenominational Christmas Song.

frothy slime
Who would have thought of a Blondie's Heart of Phillip Glass. I really like this and the first time I've heard it but it seems it's been around for a long time. Well!
I don't like this version but I DO like that it exists.
I love Glass, blondie not so much. My ears hate this.

Makes you wonder who your fellow listeners are!

A 10!
Comments here go back 12 years?!? I think this is my first time hearing it and I've been a long time listener. I thought my computer was glitching by overlapping tracks.

Regardless, it kinda works. Not the best mash-up I've heard, but very well done.
It's interesting and the person that did this mash-up certainly has talent in creating a mix.  Not going to be high on the "must hear again" list however.
Very interesting! =D
In a vs situation we should be allowed to give two ratings in order to find out who the winner is....

I love that Bill plays whatever he wants and mostly ignores the comments, but this is a nasty and unnecessary comment aimed at those of us who have every reason to come here and express our opinion.  That's not "garbage commentary" any more than a post that calls this "fresh, inspiring and beautiful", which it really, really is not.

Are you "open minded" enough to listed to three hours of orangutans farting?  Why not?  Why are you so "easily irritated and creatively challenged"?

Garbage commentary indeed...

This is really funny...
Just heard this for the first time and what an absolutely stunning rendition! Holy cow. I don't know why it would have such a low rating is 5.8 stars. It's gorgeous.
Great voice, she'll go far.  Not sure about the geyser on the old Joanna
ruined orgasm
make it stop, please William
Disco mixed with Classical, this guy is an idiot, yuckā€¦..YUCK

I just noticed that the Wikipedia link is to the disambiguation page instead of the band page. This is the curse of automation,

So this is what `kontra punkt` is
Anxious to try making this in Garage Band.  On the other hand, no.
I love the indignation of the RP denizens.  This remix is hysterical.
It's no PsychoSocial mashed up with the Wiggles, but I like it.
Not a fan to begin with, and this is just worse..
There are no "wrong opinions". There's mine (which matters) and everyone else;s (which doesn't)

Philip Glass will always remind me of the movie 'Breathless' with Richard Gere & Valérie Kaprisky. {#Daisy}
Heard that without seeing what it was, ready to comment "heart of Philip Glass" feeling pretty pleased with myself. Duh!
I want to hear Weird Al after this.

Hilarious! You nailed Ira!
A travesty. This 'artist' is first against the wall' when the revolution comes. (Douglas Adams)
I love this mashup but must admit that the haters are awfully funny!
I always thought Blondie at heart was Glass.

Funny comment, but I like the piece.  Something different, which is one of the great things about RP.

At first I thought I was hearing something from The Piano. Then it got all strange...
So want to like this but just cant. Some parts are ok and the two flow along nicely but others are disjointed and it just does not work overall. Sorry tried my best.

That's OK. I've got you covered.
Well this certainly got my attention! First time I've heard it. I thought two songs starting playing at the same time. I wanted to hate this within the first 10 seconds, but I'm liking it the more the song continues. That album cover is fantastic too. Glass on Glass...
Way to suck all of the fun out of a really fun song. Ugh.
Sometimes a good mute hits the spot.

Not sure I'm glad, but I've now heard it..

Because there are those of us who LIKE hearing this type of variety - good, bad or indifferent.   If you want only what you like may I suggest Pandora.

I was fresh out of high school and living in NYC the year 'Parallel Lines' came out.  Debbie Harry and Blondie were SO big.

This cut makes me feel liked I'm at her funeral.

OK, I can see this as a musical exercise, so one such song would be interesting. But the whole album?
Amazing to see a average rating over 5.  This is what happens when someone takes 80's pop music way too seriously.  "Next up, Beethoven plays Modest Mouse"
21st century elevator music.
Only thing missing is Ira Glass...

Each is awesome all by itself but combined this is painful. Just makes me want to hear the original even more to clean up this mess.
I like it
Yeah, I didn't like the original Blondie song, and this change makes it... not better.
My Lord, this is awful.
Yuk

Blondie great, this absolutely pointless

Pointless semi-intellectual pretentious crap
Totally brilliant, 10/10

Iā€™m working hard not to spew profanities. Um, my vote is NO!
No. Just.... no!
about a 4 on first hearing, but about a 9 for trying, so maybe a 7.  A little early in the day for an intellectual challenge....

Glad I heard it once.
awesome version - for those who can't dance
Wha-?

Wh...Why?

Why would anyone make this?

Bill, why would you play this?

The 2 different keys are killing me.  Make it stop please.
Made me look. I might have paced it a little differently, still cool.
Apparently there's another Phillip Glass/Blondie mashup getting a lot of attention right now because it was in Hulu's Handmaid's Tale.

https://www.classicfm.com/composers/glass/news/philip-glass-blondie-handmaids-tale/

It's not the same as this one as it uses Glass' Violin Concerto II instead of Opening (from Glassworks).

Also, I believe the remixer is MadMixMustang, though, as is typical of these copyright eschewing works, it's tough to find any real info.
I can't hate this
I found this quite soothing and enjoyable. Probably depends on your mindset at that particular moment.
Astonishing & beautiful!
What's cool is that it works!
What a great version,  Love it!!

Kaa-Zing!      not listenable imo
Not the worst thing I've ever heard, but still, this is wrong.  Just wrong.  {#No}
This is a LOT of effort to go to just to make a musical pun. I love it! {#Lol}
I love a good mash up from time to time. Pity so many of the best are not kosha enough for a radio station!

Unexpected, anyway, very creative!

Why the fuck would anyone ruin Blondie this way?

leaves me confused {#Stupid} like trying to listen to two songs at the same time
Not perfect, wouldn't want to hear it regularly, but the idea for the mashup and its execution are pure genius.
...and this(?) comes along on the PSD. I see others hate it. I can hear it. Evocative on this foggy Thursday morning.
This would have been better had Gary Jules done a cover. {#Frustrated}
My first comment on RP. after many enjoyable years of listenin.

Please shoot me now
yeah, most definitely a wtf moment..  what do you call it? contrived cognitive dissonance... is there such a thing?  my brain is short-circuiting..  this could be the soundtrack to Nicolas Roeg's Movie, Insignificance.

Horrible!

Provocative, granted, but I do not want to hear it ever again.
Where's the ? (huh?) rating ?!!

I find myself highly conflicted on this dreary, rainy Friday morning.

I had previously given this a 5, but I am glad that its in the rotation. Its a contrast in styles that makes me take a moment to wonder whether it is different from the original so I don't like it, or if its making me be more open to a distinctly unique interpretation of the original.

But, I am keeping it a 5....

Look up Go Home Productions for more cut'n'shut examples...!{#Smile} Unfortunately this one comes out as an insurance write-off, methinks.
Awesome, I love this. Thank you for turning me on.
I like Blondie and I like Phillip Glass... But not together. Not a good combo.
