Rodrigo y Gabriela is a they (y means and). They do a phenomenal version of Echoes as well.
Thanks for the Spanish lesson! What I meant to post should be as follows:
"Followed up by Rodrigo y Gabriela with THEIR cover of Stairway to Heaven would be a great "mash-up" in my humble opinion."

This guy is a ukulele virtuoso.
I sure hope I was wise enough to see him there. There's always so much fantastic music, it's hard to keep track.
Not regarding this particular version in particular, but -- in general -- just how many version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" does the world need? Lovely song. I am fond of it. Kind of like I adore Cohen's "Hallelujah." But, you know, how many...oh, well. Can't stop the tide, I guess.

(Can't seem to post a direct Youtube link, but believe me, it's worth the extra click.)
The first half is nice enough, the second half is scorching.

nope - period outside is correct......period!
Not according to the internet...

OMG her voice is amazing. A little bit like florence and the nightingales but with more range.
Uh, this is an instrumental.
Let me see if I got this right-you spend time listening to a radio station you admittedly don't like, and you take time to write criticisms. Sounds like a fun way to spend the day.
Like a dog always finds something to sniff and bark at the trolls will walk into any private conversation and start sh1t. I can't say here what I usually tell them.

hahaha
maybe his co-worker is forcing him to listen and all he can do is COMMENT on the songs "here"
kinda like i force my co-workers to listen - hahahaha
fuck em
Sounds better then the Beatles song
Agreed: the Beatles' version had originality, but IMO, this is vastly more involving.
(Note: just my opinion - to each our own!)

A long time ago, a young Jake uploaded a version of himself playing this sitting on a rock in a park somewhere. (link below) A fellow guitar player told me I had to check it out. I did. And after I picked my jaw up off the floor, I watched it two more times. An amazing performance, much better I think, than his studio work (which is still great).

Holy crap, indeed. The video frame rate can't even keep up with his dang hands!
BTW, at the beginning he says he's in Central Park at the Strawberry Fields area.
D'oh! I was going to say that!
Sadly, he didn't - he died in 2001, and this cover is from 2006.
I believe your period should be inside the quotation marks.

If you have the opportunity to see Jake perform in person, it is well worth the price of admission.
LLRP!
Sometimes.
Maybe you didn't stick around till the end....Jake kicks ass on this....though a few Monday's ago at work, one of the customers (an older Hawaiian dude) took out his Ukulele and serenaded the entire building with true Aloha spirit, so based on that memory and how bad as Jake gets on this, I'm going +1 to 8...LLRP and Aloha!
I was going to suggest Senor Coconut's Smoke on the Water, but Orbit's Via Caliente was spookily cha-cha-cha-ish when it followed!
It's its, not "it's".
Thanks for reminding me about that! I caught some of it while working on Kubo/2 Strings (I think)... and it wasn't yet available for purchase/listen yet anywhere.
The blurb promoting his appearance says that Jake collaborated with Alan Parsons on this album. Good company.
Ironic, considering that his was a throwback schtick.
The percussion and other stuff that joins halfway through ruin it compared to him playing it solo in a park somewhere (where I first saw it on youtube).

Hmm. I was just thinking about how lovely I find this. So sweet. I have an errand to run and I can't leave while this is playing.
How can you rate it if you haven't heard it? Should I judge you without meeting you?
Sorry Bill, really dislike the Uke stuff.
PSD is such a great feature, thanks!
Now that's just plain unmutual. Whose side are you on? No matter--No. 2 wishes to see you post haste. The green dome.

That makes me wonder if there is a version done by a tuba quartet.
Yes
HAHAHAHA - Joke of the year!
I prefer the spanish-guitar version of "MY GENERATION".
Unbelievable, what some folks play and others listen to.
Ninty (90!!!!!) 10-votes for this "crime-of-a-song" confirm that RP-music is made for the wrong crowd!
No wonder that Floyd, Queen and other retirement-boppers are so popular here.

got any bedroom recordings of stairway to heaven laying around?
See if this works… Rodrigo Y Gabriela; it's one of my favs. (Watch to at least the middle, if you think it's tedious at first; also, this isn't the best video of them doing this, but it's the best I could find amidst all the wannabees that dilute YouTube content now.)
Ooooo… nneat!! ‘got any bedroom recordings of stairway to heaven or freebird laying around? My total favorites are covers of Barry Manilow’s Copa Cobana. MMmmyea.. B.M is a dreamboat … I guess Robert Plant kinda gets my panties in a bunch too
