You might slip and you might slide
You might tumble and fall down by the road side
But don't let nobody drag your spirit down
Remember you're walking up to heaven
Don't let nobody turn you around

Walk with the rich, walk with the poor
Learn from everybody, that's what life is for
And don't let nobody ever drag your spirit down
Well be walking up to heaven
Don't let nobody turn you around

Some say yes, some say no
Some wait and see which way the wind blows
Don't let nobody ever drag your spirit down
Well be walking up to heaven
Don't let nobody turn you around

Well the things I say might sound strange to you
And I might preach the gospel and I believe it's true
And I won't let nobody drag my spirit down
I'll be walking up to heaven
And I won't let nobody turn me around

You might slip and you might slide
You might tumble and fall down by the road side
But don't let nobody drag your spirit down
Remember you're walking up to heaven
Don't let nobody turn you around

I won't let nobody turn you around

A great soulful singer!
That's the groove, exactly. Yes!
Love me some blues on a sunny Sunday morning. Thanks Bill - great mix today!

Ah, but you forgot to phrase your answer in the form of a question.
Alas, no points for you.   ; )

Would love to hear some "Black Man's Burden" one of these days.  Some of my favorite stuff from the master.

Great version of a great song! I do think the version Eric Bibb has on From Mali To Memphis is Godlike.

I like this but feel Eric Bibb's is better and that looooong intro is fabulous
Just the right amount of blues I needed.

Liked him better with War.

ain't it the truth
There's a great story about his mother in the liner notes for one of the Grateful Dead's Europe '72 shows.  She wandered backstage and was met by one of the entourage.  She was wondering if anyone there had met her son.  It turned out that they all had.  The woman who had first seen her there ended up spending the evening with her watching the concert.
Kind of drags along, getting no where. Feels like it could have been a 12-second interlude between other tunes.
But, obviously, that's just me.

I've always been into this mans music. He'll always be one of my rock legends. Good to hear he can still make music.

Oh, you just can't compare him (or anyone else) to SRV - he's too godlike! Taste Burdon for what he is.
So, based upon the title, we should let everybody drag us down? Dag, yo. I guess that's the blues for you.
Yummy... I love good blues.

I just love this guy's voice, no matter what he sings!
Nice

He put on one of the best concerts I've ever seen (and I've seen hundreds) but apparently it's a crapshoot. He was notorious for coming on stage sloppy drunk and obnoxious. I caught him on a (very) good night in a small venue in the late 70's.
