When the world is wide, wicked and wild
and watching my every move
I gather thoughts of you and that's what lovers do.
You've said before when every act is a war
and every shade, just another shade of blue
you'd have me walk with you and that's what lovers do
told you so, I'm in love with you....
told you so and I bet you love me too...
When you go walking away with the wind and the waves and
flirting with your feet,
you take a part of me and that's what lovers feel
And when you come upon a time and place sublime and it
shows you something real
you wish me there to see and that's what lovers feel
At a party I've thrown the morning has grown and
someone's going your way
you tell them you'd rather stay and that's what lovers say
So to the garden we go, quiet and slow and we
watch the world awake
you know I love you for loves sake, isn't that what lovers say?

sounds a bit Grant Lee Buffalo on the chorus with the nice sliding harmonic, a good thing.
bang on lyrics. Thanks for bringing this one up!
this is a fantastic album, this song - meh, not the strongest cut. But the "told you so..." line sounds like a Grant Lee Buffalo vocal. Took me a while to connect that because I'm old. An occasional synapse keeps giving me hope...
Liking this quite a bit.
Sounds like Collective Soul.
i dunno i just like it

1. All caps. Stop shouting.
2. It's sucko barfo, not sarko barfo.
3. Most importantly, why is this song "sarko barfo"? Too slow, too fast, too what? What is it that you, in your infinite wisdom, don't like? Enlighten us. Comments like yours (or worse yet, the horrible icon) just take up space and give the other readers of the board no information at all.
Thank you, fellow readers, for letting me rant. I feel a bit better.

bizarre timing - my local radio station played this song last night. i thought it was a new tune. not only is it not new, it's been on here for a few years, though not since last december. weirdness.

I have the CD and I think these guys are very talented. "Told You So" is not necessarily the best song. I think "Cold Truth" is even better. You can listen to it here:

sounds like something Sir Paul would write/sing.
SARKO BARFO!
Pretentious. Get back to Venice.

I was just checking to see if it was GLP. Heh!
Maybe this song will "grow on" me. It sort of irritates me now.

Lovely, lovely harmonies.I just love this sound.
To quote Trailer Park Boys:
"I don't want to say ah towed ah so, but ah towed ah so."
PS Song is fine...just a "witty" observation. Those outside of Canada might not get it. Peace.

Such a long run of top shelf songs to have breakfast too! Will I ever get anythin' done today?
Come on Bill, I dare you to play a rotten song? ( just so as I can put the washin' on at least?)
Hehehee, I am about to have my lunch...so hungry.
This song kicks ass and I like their name a lot.

Very predictable comment indeed.
Whenever a slower, pretty song is played, someone inevitably posts the same variation of the
"Yawn",
"Wake Me up when its over" or
"Ho-Hum"
comment.
Enough already. So its not a loud fast song. SO WHAT?
Yawn, you guys wake me up when this is over
This is not the best song on this album but I do love this album. Get it at CD Baby!

Who needs itunes? You can download this song and several others from the band's website at www.guggenheimgrotto.com.
Dang! this one's not there any more!
Another recent addition to my collection. Purchased the CD based on this song and after reading a few good reviews on CDBaby, decided it was worth taking a chance. Very glad I decided to take a chance... excellent.
Bill - this is available in the U.S. I purchased from CDBaby.com. A bit pricey at $18.99, but worth it :)
This is one of my favorite RP songs. The very first time I heard it (was on RP of course), I couldn't get it out of my head or stop thinking about it. I always anticipate the next time Bill will play it... Thanks Bill!

Anybody looking for this CD (Waltzing Alone) need go no further than the Apple Music Store. The entire CD is outstanding. (And they're Irish, by the way . . . discovered them a few months ago on XM Radio).
Happy listening!
Lovely
Fantastic song. Wish the CD was available stateside.
EDIT: Apparently CD Baby has it, will have to check that out!
I wish I could write a song this meaningful.

i love this song for some reason. i tried to download it on itunes and a million other places, and i couldn't get a hold of it.
whoops, i put the last posting on the wrong song...rookie.
You dudes have a good knack for playing proper Canadian tunage.
This song makes me want to drink corona in silver city, new mexico.
no wait, every song does.
Neil Young gets a 7.8 and this group only a 6?
That twangy guitar makes me think someone spiked my speakers, blew my amp, or worse. The singing is good though.
They are one of my favorite bands at the moment. The entire album is very good.

Great track. Uploaded it weeks ago (with Wonderful Wizard) and in the meantime it got added with lots of other tracks from them! Great album.
