I absolutely love how Shatner works himself up to a frenzy at the climax of the song.  Sheer perfection.  Everyone should listen to this song on the first of November every election year.

I SO appreciate this version!! And they were amazing when they performed this on Saturday Night Live! LOVE.

I literally wrote into my will that the song "You're Gonna Die" from this "Has Been" album is played at my funeral. This whole album is FUN.

this is the first time I heard this and...not sure what to think! The juxtaposition of Shakespearean Shatner's voice with punk rock was strangely sublime. Sadly, the lyrics are still very contemporary.

The Pulp version is worse... it's ruins a good song with those annoying klaxon sounds that just create a piercing wall of noise.  I used to turn that off whenever it came on.  Shatner is bad but in a good way.

I just love this one.

Forget about what should be the norm in music, forget about Shatner's personality, forget about how people should approach when doing covers - just dive in and enjoy the quirkiness of this piece.

I gave it a 9 just because it's o much fun (I'd give it a 10 but OK I'll restrain myself - but if I had 2 or 3 beers this would be a 10).
