Good lord, haters. It doesnt matter if Jimi was the greatest ever. Listen to THIS SONG. Supporting the instrumental virtuosity of all 3 involved the production is mind-melting, and this was done in analog in 1968. Nothing compares to the Experience. Not one damn thing.

interesting Hendrix note: Tony "Paulie Walnuts" Sirico just died. 
It was Tony who shook down club owners, most notoriously Steve Paul's The Scene. Well, Jimi, Johnny Winter, Jim Morrison etc all hung out there and the wannabe non-made gangster Tony Sirico relentlessly, brutally bullied and tortured Hendrix during his final days, suffering from a bad H problem. Great actor but not so much a great human being in his younger days.

Another woman who plays lead and sings is Carolyn Wonderland, local hero. Used to see her at Dan Electro's in Houston's Heights - little bitty thing with a big red hollow-body, blowing the roof off the joint.

Ms. Wonderland is good enough some guy, Robert Zimmerman I think, asked her to tour with him. Ray Benson and Bonnie are both fans as well.

second concert I ever saw, played with the soft machine, first concert was creedence clearwater  and this up and comming band from the bay area called the santana blues band.. you never forget the first ones, they live within you forever
