My friend, you obviously haven't heard much reggae then! Go to You tube and look up the likes of: Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs, Toots and the Maytals, Bunny Wailer, Papa Michigan and General Smiley, UB40, Culture, Roots Radics, Ziggy Marley, Steven Marley, all Marleys and so much more to explore! Enjoy!
I just bought a bass...
How fantastic Thank you so much.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This took some sting out of that Steve Earle abomination earlier. Is there a NEOSPORIN® and a Band-Aid emoji?
If you say - 'Bobby Lon' every 10 seconds for half a minute, it is the equivalent of
taking a hit of medium grade ganja.
Use caution driving or operating heavy machinery.

Yeah, how dare white guys sing reggae. It cuts into the Marley profits from commercial radio. Segregation is alive and well, it seems.

If you really did need your $40 back then it sounds like you were lucky to sell the tickets.  He died a few days before that show.

great breezy sunday morning music! thanks!
There are many good reggae musicians out there,
but for ME, Tosh's voice will always be THE voice of reggae.

It is very nice to hear a Peter Tosh song instead of Bob Marleys, a change is good from time to time.

Lovin' the Peter Tosh! Big thanks to RP for introducing me to his music {#Clap}
Yup, this sucks.

dedicated to my Aunt Ruth and also to her main coon cat "Tosh" R.I.P.
happy 4-20. R.I.P Mr Tosh
Fight dem bumboklaat Babylon! R.I.P. Brother Peter! If you like Peter Tosh, get yourself a copy of the documentary Stepping Razor/Red X, really great insight into the man and the times, a lot of it features his voiceover from the Red X tapes that he was recording at the time of his death. Essential viewing.
From wikipedia entry on Peter Tosh:
After an illustrious career with the Wailers and as a solo musician, he was murdered at his home. Though robbery was officially said to be the motivation behind Tosh's death, many believe that there were ulterior motives to the killing, citing that nothing was taken from the house
While packing for my upcoming annual vacation in the West Indies, reading the negative comments below leads to the question: would you really be so miserable if you actually stepped out of your bungalow, put down your ipod, and went out and met the people? I hope not, because Reggae is what you will hear - and nothing else!! AND I CAN'T WAIT!! Would you really stay away from one of the most beautiful - physically and culturally - parts of our hemisphere because of the music? On second thought, please do stay away. Ya man.
is he saying "stumblin' down in reeehab?"

Nuggle-buddy, are you white or black? Or green? Or what? And how do you magically know whether all these people who hate reggae are white or black or whatever? Oh, and I guess I missed the part where all these reggae haters specifically mentioned that it was because most of the musicians were black that they didn't like the music. You must have spotted that somewhere. If you actually looked at the highest-rated songs of a lot of these reggae haters, you'd find quite a few of them really enjoy music by many of the black artists played on this station, be they Ladysmith Black Mombazo, Marvin Gay, Stevie Wonder, etc. Once again, your ability to make a baseless accusation astounds. Congratulations!

No matter how dissimilar some reggae is supposed to be to other reggae, it all sounds basically the same. No matter how rarely it could be played, it would be overplayed.
that's sort of true, in that reggae doesn't have a huge musical variety to it, much like blues. and yet, something differentiates songs and artists from each other, so that some things are worth listening to, others, not so much. this right here is good stuff.
