beyond the naked eye
Blue dreams about you
keep playing in my mind
Oh if I was
Oh if I was your man
Oh if I was
Oh if I was your man
I'm just a satellite
so lazy in the breeze
Ready to fly away, I need your gravity
When I run down the path
the turns look all the same
And if I lose my way
your mind will call my name
Oh if I was
Oh if I was your man
Oh if I was
Oh if I was your man
Let's go outside to a dark place
Where the kitty cat hides
put on your fake wings
give the moon a ride
When you're lonely for the angel inside
3:30 in the morning is too easy for you
But when it comes without a warning
What are you gonna do this time? You gonna do this time?
Floating above you
beyond the naked eye
Blue dreams about you
comes rushing through my mind
Branded with thoughts of you
They're tattooed on my sou;
Why don't they seem to fade
Is what I'll never know
Oh if I was
Oh if I was your man
Oh if I was
Oh if I was your man
Oh if I was
Oh if I was your man "

Isn’t it ‘ironic’, don’t cha think 😜 ?!
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Rock and Roll transcends minutia like grammar.
Yeah and lets take it to its ultimate conclusion where everyone sings gibberish like The Cocteau Twins

You're an ass. It's rock 'n roll.
The women were dancing like twirling dervishes in the moonlight, one the grass.
You had to be there....;
not really. people dance like that at ever dead show or phish show or any of the other jam band shows. it's just what they do.
She toured with the Dead around the time this album was recorded.
Saw in at Summer outdoor venue on Apple River, WI. She did some trippy stuff. There was a full moon and people were sweating with the dancing.

Sign of the times I guess that a pedant will correct the grammar, but the fact that SHE might be your MAN is just accepted
And, indeed, also such minutiae as spelling.

That may be, but I'm positive it sounds better using "was" rather than "were".
It don't come easy, ask Ringo Starr

wind... I saw her with the Dead at Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic around Bee Cave/Austin. It was the only time I've seen her live sad to say. But she did impress me! Itwas a fantastic show... I believe in '03. They had just played Bonnaroo. Neil Young and Crazy Horse were the headliners the next night! Quite the 3 day weekend trip!
please.
I wish I knew...

Hell, if she truly wished it, I'd let her be my man. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pedant is the feminine form of peduncle...

Your wife teaches an entire class of red heads? :P
I like this one too, almost more so because of the grammar lesson provided in the comments. I'll go +1 to 8...LLRP!!

Same here, dollars included.
Totally. It feels like "hey guys, what do you say let's play this completely different song for a few bars" eh? Rest of the song is great though. Heck the bridge would be fine... in some other song!
yeah yeah yeah

Don't know about the origin of the melody, but it was also used in this Hindi song from a 1996 Bollywood movie:

I agree. Something's not flowing, at least, not to my ears.
Call me.

You are one sad woman
Definitely not a sitar. Sounds more middle eastern then Indian. Sounds like an oud.

Hey, different strokes, as they say. I think she's hotter than Hell's hinges, myself. Always have. I saw her singing background for The Dead, and she was magnificent.
When she was doing back up for the Dead, she was called "a hippy in training"...I love that description.
Wish Jerry could have heard her though, heck, he probably did...
