Down along these hillsides
Many miles ago
Lived a man of vision child
But little did I know
He was always talking child
About the heart and soul
'Til one day some pharaoh came
And offered up his dole

In the valley
In the valley of the kings
In the valley
The valley of the kings
The kings

Well he lives up in a tower now
High upon a hill
People come from miles around
Hoping that he will
Turn their dreams right into gold
Turn their worlds around
And if he does he'll keep it all
And stash it underground

In the valley
In the valley of the kings
In the valley
The valley of the kings
The kings

From a distance, I thought this was Robert Plant.
Turns Out I underestimated Marc Cohn. Luckily, it only took me 26 years to find out.
Morecthan just listenable.

The one where a talented man became isolated from the rest of the world and died too young.
Which Memphis is he focusing on here?

Hmmm...perhaps if you're only comparing two of his songs... This album and the original (w/ Walking in Memphis) are fantastic. I'd love to hear "Olana" on RP. I also need to get his third album... PS - Bill, how about a "All songs on RP by this artist" quicklink?
Not \"Walking in Memphis\". He seems 1 dimensional to me.
This is the first song I\'ve heard by Marc Cohn. Definitely would like to hear more!
