Johnny be lost
Johnny be calm
Walk away
Don't jump the gun

Cutting the cost
Thinking it through
Look in your own way
Making your own rules

Don't believe
What they say
Johnny be cool, yeah
Johnny be calm

Just the two of us
Makin' fools of us
Just the two of us
Wanna feel again
Kickin' our heels again
Just the two of us

Nothing to lose
So nothing gets lost
Measure the truth
Then measure the cost

So much choice
In trust on
In the universe
Just the two of us
Just the two of us
Just the two of us
Making fools of us
Making fools of us
Wanna feel again
Kickin' our heels again
The two of us

Kinda crude, a lot loud, kinda hot.
Playing loud, sound seem rather distorted
Not a fan.
It started out interestingly enough — sort of Tangerine Dream-ish ... then turned into overly-distorted, relentlessly driving gratingness.
I can only give it a 3.

Loud
In the right mood is excellent
Doves is the band that taught me to always bring earplugs to concerts - you can get damaged listening to excessively loud music...

That's a good point compelling may be all that matters - aesthetics shouldn't be complicated.  Besides, who wants to only listen to "the finest music on the planet"(whatever that is)?
Simply the best.
Really, sometimes I don't get how a band can be this brilliant, and with such consistency. Everything they do is perfect.

Doves, Doves, DOVES!

Pretty smokin'. Too short on that closing guitar drive, though. Crank it!

It's like someone took Sonic Youth thru a slight pop filter and sprinkled a little Manchester vocal on top.  What's to explain?

Great band

vit clears head. Thanks. I needed that.

And only a smidge over 200 rated 4 or less...

Tears for Fears. That's who this guy's voice reminds me of. The music and arrangement are great though.

I love it when my rating changes the average rating. My rating just took this from 7.2 to 7.3!
utter crap. loads of noise plus mediocre singing doesn't make for good music

I gotta buy this album!!! Every single track sounds great!{#Bananajam}
7 ==> 8

Freakin' great stuff once again from the Doves!
Wow. Amazing mix! This is a great disc. Radio Paradise makes me weep with joy @ times.

No kidding!!!  Radio at it's BEST!!!  (Thank you BillG!!!)

Liking this one. Have always thought that the Doves have never really rescaled the heights of their
first album but this is really good.
Nice sudden transition from Elton John - Sixty Years On
What a great segue and what a great rocking set!

Doves - the Outsiders
Cracker - Time Machine
Son Volt - Drown

All hail the Master - Bill G. {#Notworthy}
I love this record. I think it's way better than "Coldplay with guitars", which some have said. It's much darker than that.

Anyway, a great record... hope it does well. How will they reproduce it live though?

Much as I like it (maybe this is why I like it...) I have to say that this Doves album reminds me greatly of criminally-neglected 90s band

Swervedriver https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swervedriver#2008_Reunion

This Doves album could practically be a long-lost unreleased Swervedriver LP.

Swervedriver just reunited at Coachella, and their long-out-of-print CDs are being reissued.  "Raise" is one of the great records of the 90s.

What a concept: make sure the low-bitrate MP3 rips of your music sound just like the original by making the original sound like a low-bitrate MP3 rip.

The quality comes through—I do like it—but I tremble at the thought of hearing all the bands who will attempt to steal their sound.

Wow. This sounds really thick.

Really looking foward to this CD.

Nice transition. A new Doves? Nice!
New Doves!
What, nothing to be said?
It would seem the Doves can do little wrong - 7 from me :)
