Fascism and Communism / Socialism are right next to each other. The middle or center is 180 degrees opposite. The only difference being is that (usually) Fascism is based on nationalism and Communism is a globalist thing.
Looking back at WW II, the Germans and Russians were fighting each other over the same goal albeit for different purposes.
Horseshoe theory has limited use. Every centrist is right next to them as well.
You miss a crucial difference, aside from nationalism vs. internationalism, namely that fascism is pro-capitalist while socialism is anti-capitalist.
There are more salient differences, incl. fascism's opposition to socialism/Marxism, etc., etc.
Liberal capitalism has failed us all. Isn't it? A hundred years ago, the world was at almost the same stage... democracy bears fascism, and fascism bears global war. For the sake of a free market?! I'd say fuck that.

Let's take the current shutdown as an example (and I'm not trying to blame one party over the other).
What is the messaging? Republicans arent funding healthcare for those who need it. And of course everyone is blaming the high price of drugs... when its not the price of drugs (which have actually been deflationary for generics - 90% of scripts- and below inflation for brand.)
But what are they really fighting for? Maintaining subsidies paid to insurance companies.
What should the messaging be? We need to help patients who cant afford their deductibles and out of pocket costs.
Or "our healthcare system is so f'ing dysfunctional that it takes government subsidies for a majority of the country to be able to afford insurance that doesn't cover a basic level of care".

Empires come and go, indeed. As long as empires rule the world (or parts of it) there can be no world-peace, as empires always seek to oppress people(s). A true world-brotherhood of all people requires a more spiritual consciousness of each individul human being than "I want to become rich". Or "powerful ". Or "famous". A higher state of "moral evolution" we all can rally around!

If you start with âfuck the free marketâ then, well - itâs not enough to just be disgruntled, but to talk about a practical replacement that folks can rally around.
Judging by the lack of criticism and introspection going on in here one would think that there are no democrats to be found on RP.
All that can be found is criticism of all things and people MAGA.
Based upon that, one would have to assume that everything going on regarding the democratic party is hunky dory.
Or MAGA is the shiny object being used to deflect attention away from all the problems with the democratic party so those in charge can keep on doing what they are doing, which evidently the party faithful fully approve ...

It was really "dark skin or light skin? Vote accordingly." Some folks didn't think past that. Looking at you, farmers.

The thing is (and a big part of why I pick platypus), it's all us. The government is supposed to be for us, and generally it really is. Yes there is some corruption and undue influence form corps/groups that shouldn't wield it. But farmers have always been taken care of, middle America was never 'abandoned', no one was 'forced' to change gender. One side believes everyone is human and should have healthcare and clean water and education, the other side is demonstrating that they believe benefits should only exist for themselves and the opposition should be punished.
