I used it to plan road trips and more than once it sent me for dinner to a place that only served coffee and pastries. I was OK with it, but the Better Half™ absolutely was not.

But I have experimented with using it to figure out tax burden and how to deal with the 401k RMD thing later, and it might be helpful. I tried to compare the benefit of declaring PA residency in lieu of my CA one, and not sure if I trust its analysis. (But PA doesn't tax pension or 401k or SS payments, so that's attractive)

Never ask ChatGPT for Prom advice. It will freak out and send you Porn pic’s instead.

Now ask if those restaurants actually have vegan options. I would not be surprised if there were a number that did not.

Sure but the websites are there to check. It caught all the ones I'm aware of, and added Pizza Hut with the note that you can do a dairy-free pizza if you want and I thought it was almost trying to make a joke. Overall it's as accurate as Google with the caveat that Google's not very accurate, plus it's less hassle to use.

I have never considered using it to do research or even ask a question. I've used it to write job descriptions because I that's boring and I forget to mention stuff. Then I tell it to say the same thing in more casual language and it does a pretty good job of sounding like a human wrote it. Then I tweak it.

I just asked it for vegan options in northwest wyoming and it popped up a map and websites so hey.

I've pretty much avoided it for important things, but it might have some usefulness, at least by making something in chalk that I can fix up later.
Apparently, you can even write a speech, read it on camera, and it will give pointers as to how to make it more interesting and improve your delivery?
I'm looking for folks with some experience to give up some ideas.

We played around with it a bit at work for, you know, REAL INFORMATION - and every single research reference it supplied was fictional. Format was correct, but the actual reference - no such thing.

When I use it, it's always only a starting point. Try asking it to provide links to each place it suggests?

As I've been doing a lot of driving recently across this great land of ours (USA, if you're nasty) I've been using the ChatGPT thing to plan. It does some remarkable stuff, like pointing me to rest stops/gas stations/restaurants/hotels that are within the driving hour time limit each day.

However, more than once the requested "non-franchise restaurant prioritizing fresh food" is a coffee/pastry place, or a place that doesn't exist any more, etc. So it's annoying to use it to schedule a week of traveling and have it strand us.

For folks using ChatGPT or its cousins, any un/favorable feedback or hints?
