If it wasn't a CD player also, I might have considered turfing it for a better alternative.
I can also use my stereo system and stream on the Cambridge receiver via BT. It was just so much easier with the Soundtouch.
I was looking at Bose wireless speakers (back when they had a retail store near me), and was close to buying them. Then, Spotify had an offer for 1 Heos 3 speaker at half off. I picked up one....and immediately went to eBay and grabbed another.
I was hooked on wireless, and then ran into Denon selling the Heos 5 for $150 vs $500 (I think). I have multiple rooms / groups / etc. now....and would be crushed if they stopped supporting the older versions. Listening to the original pair as I type.
They just announced a new set of multi-room, wireless speakers. They really should do something for functional ones the "euthanized".
I have an old (early '90s?) Bose CD-3000, and I attached a Google Chromecast Audio to it. Still works amazingly well. There was a time when Google sold the Chromecast audio for $10.... now they sell on eBay for $200. I thought about buying a few when then announced they were going to stop selling them, but I never imagined the tech would hold up and prices would go up.
At this point, it's probably better to buy speakers than wifi connectors.

I guess THIS explains why I spent the last hour or so trying to get my presets back on my Bose Soundtouch after they disappeared.

Yes. Bose, which used to make a spectacular product and was very consumer satisfaction-focused, has now embraced all that is wrong with Corporate America (or other countries, if you have that experience). We do like the CD player, and we have it connected to our telly for a nice sound experience, but Bose's poor corporate decision has kicked our our streaming choices (RP, a fabulous university jazz station in San Antonio, and one of the few successful community-run radio stations in the country, amongst others) to the curb. F*ckers.

My only saving grace is that it's also a CD player. The options that are not affected I hardly ever use, like the radio or Bluetooth.
But I'm really gonna miss those Streaming channels I had on the presets, especially RP and a 24hr a day Pink Floyd channel.

Dear Bill
I used to listen to various RP Medialinks on my Bose Soundtouch. Since a couple of weeks none ot them are working anymore (ERROR 3103)
What happened?
Besides that thank you for the music, it's fantastic!

Hi,
As far as I know nothing has changed on our end that would explain that.
The only thing I found for that error on the Bose site is instructions to reboot the device and try again.
Or delete the service and readd it. ( not sure if that applies )
If you have shortcuts/favorites. Could try deleting and recreating them as well.
My understanding is Bose relies on TuneIn. I'd expect if you search for us in their TuneIn section those links should work.
If you are still having issues, can contact us at tech-support@radioparadise.com
