It still is.

I've been getting invites from former colleagues, and finally broke down and joined.

Just what I need, another social media site...

The layout sucks.  They fail to understand that people might want to maintain professional relationships with members in other profession areas.  That's the biggest fail.

The groups are disappointing.  Most are dominated by Asian entrepreneurs pitching all kinds of stuff, and one former Serbian war criminal who is constantly boasting about his score on something I've never heard of and don't care about.

It's a minefield for job seekers, since you don't dare enter into a conversation just for fun.

For keeping contact with business contacts it has nothing over plain old e-mail and other social media sites.

For keeping informed it fails because almost everything is a pitch for a product, not actual news.

No thanks!

Want to endorse some skills of another LinkedIn member? Don't wait for a pop-up to prompt you to do so. Instead, visit his/her page, scroll to the Skills & Expertise section and then click the <+> sign adjacent to that member's item you wish to endorse.

I think it's quite effective- two job enquiries in a week and useful in identifying people I'm going to meet.

41 now!

Sorry I was late in responding. I will blame the usual holiday madness.

I would like to see some more activity in this group and fellow RP members helping each other out business wise.

I could also use some help administering this LinkedIn Group. I still want to keep it a Private Group. Any interested people please PM here at RP or send me a message via LinkedIn.
