Restoring the forum threads is on the to-do list for our backend engineer - we have a lot of time-sensitive things to get through prior to that, please have patience.

Missed this and that's a shame imo. I always liked it when someone revived an ancient thread for new purposes. And what are we going to do without Winter's Christmas list every year?
90 days is far too short in any case

For me, this place doesn't look the same anymore. So many threads, my heart was in. All gone.

It stuck like mayonnaise. People were just beginning to recognize that places like this are pretty important; back then it was more of a lark. But topics got deleted that we all thought were essential to the fabric of RP. It was pretty traumatic back then. Now it's just a reminder that nobody really gives a shit about anything so why should I?

The system is now set up to delete any forum which is over 90 days without activity. We voted on this a few weeks back and the general consensus was given the choice between an everlasting archive or faster server speeds, most agreed that server speed was preferable. If you have any questions put them at the feet of Bill G. He and Da Wiz were the one's who set up the code. Personally, if there isn't any call for the string after 90 days, it's generally dead anyway. You can always start a new one. Like I do.

I'm guessing since this thread is still 'alive' that the "over 90 days without activity" didn't stick.

Interesting, though, how the deletion of threads was an issue that many years ago.
