No, you miss the point that Biden and team didn't mishandle it.

If you go by months, it peaked at 9.1% in June of 22.

Worst in 40-ish years is correct though. I wonder if that '22 spike could have been the fallout from, perhaps, the mishandling of some earlier event. Hmm.

well, technically, 8.0 would have two digits. And if you look at it sideways, the inflation was infinite.

Come on man, this is right up your channel of delusion. Everyone else is a little worse off than we are, so we won. This is your logic for everything else. Or are you just mad that you didn't get your divinely granted share of the largess that all the corporations got?  You should have invested better, you mis-timed all your crypto interests, so you must not be on the 'in' list anymore. Don't worry, Others have profited from your losses, so the worthy have been served.

Inflation in the US has been lower than most of the rest of the world. Besides, that's why you guys have a semi-independent Federal Reserve so that the major actions that affect the inflation are outside of the president's control. It's a system that has worked pretty well for a long time that the republicans hate.

This is an obvious, ignorant response.

There are 3 possible causes of the recent inflation in the US:  Trump, Biden, and the entire planet during/post COVID. If you want to blame domestic programs, I think it's fair to call it a tie between Biden and Trump.
  • Trump approved the $1.9 trillion CARES Act
  • Biden implemented the $2.1 trillion American Rescue Plan
The largest impact was supply-chain issues that resulted from COVID and the war in Ukraine.  Any suggestion that Trump would have "managed" those issues better than Biden has no basis in reality.  Trump's ineptitude in managing COVID is the reason is wasn't re-elected in 2020, and as for the war he "would have prevented" but was going to end during the first 24 hours of his new term... results speak for themselves.

If you didn't like the pain that Biden's policies put on your wallet... you might wanna stock up now.  Prices are about to start rising....quickly.  You should write these numbers down:

Gasoline: $3.11 per gallon (regular unleaded)
Eggs: $4.53 per dozen
Milk $4.10 per gallon

In particular... today... keep an eye on egg prices.

Donnie's freeze on CDC communications eliminates the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) that includes critical information in fighting health issues like bird flu.  That will delay critical updates and containment efforts for the bird flu pandemic, worsening its spread and impact on poultry. This will exacerbate egg shortages, driving prices even higher, for a pandemic that is spreading still, and has claimed over 100 million poultry birds so far in the US.

You're free to hold Biden accountable for anything you'd like, with or without a reasonable understanding of how things work.  Let's see if you will hold Trump accountable for inflation now.  Just to be clear... inflation has been under control and prices have been stable for 2 years... so any "Biden policy created this issue for Trump" is total bullshit.  Price increases now are on you.  You have only yourself to blame (or thank) based on prices going forward.

I don't want to discount any PTSD you may or may not be suffering from, but I doubt anything Biden did over his term had any significant direct impact on your life. You probably are eligible for Social Security or maybe even collecting. Biden did not do anything to solve the funding shortfall, probably because that would have required the Republicans in congress to agree to raising the money to do so. But trump's policies will accelerate the date where the fund becomes insolvent. I don't know or care if you have guns or not, but Biden didn't take people's guns away. He tried to put together an agreement on border security that was approved by ICE but trump killed it. He did put controls of prescription drug costs into place but trump cancelled them. Maybe your health insurance is good enough it doesn't matter to you personally, but it does did help many other Americans.

He kept seeing other people doing okay, or even moving forward. So he must have been going backwards. No one praised him for being an old white guy, some of the 'others, even got rights or benefits.  No one put him on a pedestal, so he felt small and weak. It was really bad.  So he chose blade runner because green chicks scare him.

We see them in Baja when they launch from Vandenburg. It's sort of cool, but also a bummer as space is becoming nothing more than the next commercial frontier.

As I noted in the other thread, we could have had Star Trek but we chose Blade Runner instead. I watched part of Apollo 13 last night - the opportunities that we missed over the last 40-50 years are staggering. The optimism, the accomplishments we could have had.... but hey, at least we kept 'those' people from getting any benefit too. Zero sum thinking will be the end of humanity.
